FITT Noves Dramatúrgies

El Serrallo - Carrer Sant Pere, 2

Wednesday, 31/08/2022

When the Carme festivities from el Serrallo are approaching, a stinky, huge, black cloud stains the sky. When it leaves, the water is empty of fish. While the fishermen and the soul of the neighbouhood are desperate, life appears to go on normally. Some pray to saints and figures, but most have forgotten about them.

Are the fables about mermaids and newts true? Which decisions can ordinary men and women make to rescue their surrounding environment? This story full of ghosts gets us into the heart of the fishing neighbourhood to place us in a present time made by uncertainties that rise in the dark night and bursts in broad daylight.

Titanas, el poder del encuentro

Sol Picó, Natsuki i Charlotta Öfverholm

Teatre Tarragona

Wednesday, 31/08/2022 21:30

Titanas is a meeting of Sol Picó, Natsuki, and Charlotta Öfverholm, three dancers and choreographers with absolutely disparate influences and paths that now converge at the same point of the road. With the three vertices of a magic triangle, their reunion creates a space of total freedom where everything is possible. The purest, wildest, and genuine energies and forces emerge, identities fade off, skins exchange, and a dialog between the multiplicity of identities fighting within us to overflow starts. With Judit Farrés’s music and the voices of a twelve-women-chorus, this triad of fighter goddesses, decidedly powerful, euphoric, and optimistic, rebirth to create a new ideal, utopic, and fantastic universe, with no rules to follow, nor archetypes to fit in.

Teatro En Vilo

Auditori Eutyches

Thursday, 1/09/2022 19:00

The actress, accompanied by music on the stage, is displayed in multiple voices to start a journey to the past to understand that weird amalgam result of what we wanted to be and what we are. This is a funny, brave and profound piece, a celebration of what does not exist anymore, of what could have been and never was, a chant to the losers, to the ones who never give up on waiting for their moment.

A heartrending story where “Teatro en Vilo” displays the eloquence of its theatrical poetry again, the irreverence, the tenderness and the humor to bring us closer to the battle of a woman who fights between the extraordinary and the ordinary, the feats and the defeats, the must be and the true happiness.

“Teatro En Vilo” is one of the most interesting companies in the new theatrical creation, backed by their multiple award-winning  plays. Among them, is the Ojo Crítico de Teatro (RNE) Award, receiving marvelous reviews for their creations.

“I’m DJ-Beat-es... and I do drugs.”

Paul is a Type 1 Diabetic, and has been for 28 years.

Paul is also a DJ, and has been for about 5 months.

Both are challenging skills, a sequence of spinning multiple disks at any one time. Paul is not perfect at either. With Dia-Beat-es he hopes to cross-fade between the two in this mega-mix of sweet sweet music dedicated to the carb counting druggies* like him.

Join Paul as he drops beats on the past 28 years of his drug-filled life, mixing in the highs and lows of living as a full time diabetic... and part time DJ.

Light years away

Between 1960 and 1980, my father and his two brothers were members of the Edelweiss Speleology Group. This group explored the Ojo Guereña cave in northern of Spain, one of the largest caves in the world.

The brothers, born in the conservative town of Burgos just after the Spanish Civil War, found a way to escape the poverty and isolation of life under the Franco dictatorship. Leading parallel lives, they worked in offices or factories during the week, seemingly free, but in reality oppressed, and in their free time, they discovered caves. Beneath the earth, they found the freedom that they missed above ground.
LIGHT YEARS AWAY examines caves as a living space. I'm interested in the individual and collective perception of such spaces: a minimal architecture populated by discoverers, prehistoric peoples, animals and tourists. The cave is moreover a mental world that is the product of our collective imagining of underground spaces and darkness.
LIGHT YEARS AWAY is a visit guided by speleologists into the darkness of the theater. This is a film out of the screen,  a documentary without faces, a performance illuminated by a torch. Immerse yourself in this darkness. Try to look, without really being able to see. Listen and engage your imagination.

Travy

Closing

Teatre Tarragona

Saturday, 3/09/2022 21:30

A family that has got theatre as a way of being and living. A game between life and theatre; the lie and the truth. Two old clowns who are not funny. Two sons lost in themselves, the transgression of art and success. A family of minstrels who understand each other best by putting on a mask rather than looking in the eyes. They are convinced of creating a show. The last show?

Travy is a tribute to the family Pla-Solina itself, artistically named La família Travy, and a (dis)agreement between two theatrical trends; on the one hand the clown, the folklore and popular theatre. On the other hand, the post-dramatic and meta-theatrical. It exposes two generations and two vital moments; those who fearlessly already see the end of the road and those who see the beginning of it panicking. At a point in which the vets of the company have no more ideas to create shows and in which the daughter rebels against all the inherited artistic forms, the youngest son comes back home to, going back to the origins, to find his artistic discourse and himself.

Ivo Dimchev

Pati Pau Delclòs

Saturday, 3/09/2022 23:30

Ivo Dimchev used to be the performer parents wanted to protect their kids from, now his angelic songs are the ones they play their babies to sleep with. Known as an irreverent and provocative performance artist, the chameleon-like queer Bulgarian choreographer, performer, and activist has recently been exploring the universe of sound. Musical research is now the core of his practice, with lyrics that weave a dark poetry around the listener. His voice is equal parts carnal and sweet, capricious and elegant. With a stage presence oscillating between rock star and “prima donna,” Dimchev rips out your heart and licks it before leading you onto the club dance floor. In “HALAL,” Dimchev presents songs from his older albums as well as songs written during the pandemic—angelic in tone but dirty in content. Truly a master of performance, Dimchev’s emotional voice will move even the coldest of creatures.
